The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has led senators on a crucial visit to Maiduguri, the Borno state capital for an on-the-spot assessment of the damage done to the state as a result of the continued attacks by Boko Haram elements.

Saraki and his team are expected to visit residents that have been displaced by the Boko Haram attacks that have ravaged the northeastern states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe.
